JOB TITLE:    SENIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT UNDERWRITER

THE OPPORTUNITY:

On behalf of our client, Red Tree Consulting is exclusively working with one of Irelands largest Insurers to recruit a product development underwriter. Reporting to the Head of underwriting this role is to develop a suite of commercial products to drive the revenue and profitability targets of the organisation.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Identify target risk segments and develop suitable product initiatives to assist the organisation in writing quality risks.

- Work with the actuarial team to develop pricing structures.

- Review and develop appropriate underwriting guidelines, acceptance criteria and QA standards.

- Act as technical expert and point of referral for all levels of staff.

- Support the profitable development of the commercial account.

- Monitor the accounts performance and take remedial action where necessary.

CANDIDATE PROFILE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Expert knowledge in commercial insurances

- Strong technical expert with in depth knowledge of policy wordings, rating systems, underwriting guidelines etc.

- Excellent knowledge of the market

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Flexible work attitude and an ability to work within strict deadlines

- In excess of 10 years underwriting experience in major insurer at a senior level with relevant experience of account analysis and management

- ACII or business degree qualification
