Compliance Assistant, Global Professional Services Firm (1-2 years’ experience)

On behalf of our client, Red Tree Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Compliance Assistant to join an international fiduciary services company for this team based role.

The Role


The company has a diversified client base to include multinational corporations, financial institutions, alternative investment funds and entrepreneurs.

The team is made up of professionals with backgrounds in law, tax, accounting, economics  and business administration.

As Compliance Assistant your aim is to prevent, by all reasonable means, the occurrence of compliance risks. Compliance aims at stimulating, monitoring and controlling the observation of laws, regulations, internal rules and ethical standards that are relevant to the integrity and to the reputation of the company. The Compliance Assistant conducts credit/acceptance/operational research with the aim to produce recommendations on various customer or process instruments, and to give solid advice as to risk characteristics


As Compliance Assistant you will be responsible for a wide range of activities:

  • Act as a point of contact for the business for all Compliance and AML-related queries
  • Assist the compliance officer in ensuring that an effective system exists for communicating Group compliance and risk standards and provide guidance in these areas, including training and other communications media
  • Ensure that appropriate compliance records are generated and maintained. Updating all Compliance information and databases
  • Aid Relationship Managers in the Review, preparation and presentation of KYC files to the Local Acceptance Committee (LAC)
  • Complete accurate KYC profiles in a timely manner for new / existing customers using internal KYC systems. Apply Client On-Boarding policies and procedures to obtain and analyse the necessary documents for each client type
  • Review publicly available sources of information to develop a thorough understanding of the client’s activities and the nature of the proposed business relationship and work with the First line to source additional documentation if sufficient information is not publicly available
  • Annual review of KYC files according to risk levels
  • Initial & continuous screening of UBO, Client and additional Counterparties via World-Check and Pythagoras databases to identify sanctions, PEPS, convictions, warnings and any other adverse information
  • To support in the preparation of reports and updates on the status of the annual Compliance Plan and all the other relevant items
  • Assist the compliance officer in ensuring coordination with other company departments including legal, internal audit, human resources, and IT to ensure effective implementation of the compliance program
  • Execute such other functions related to the compliance program as are delegated by the compliance officer

Candidate Profile / Experience

Our client is looking for individuals who:

  • Want to succeed, grow, be challenged and challenge others
  • Have a strong understanding of compliance and proven experience in administration – Ideally 1-2 years within a Compliance or AML role
  • Degree educated and holding, working towards or willing to work towards, a relevant compliance-related qualification
  • Have strong communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work towards deadlines
